As you can see, we’ll be doing quarterly rotations. 2 meetings with guest speakers, 1 month for critiquing.
When we have a guest speaker, we’ll be hearing from local author what their best tips for fellow writers! In 2013-14, we heard from a variety of people on topic featuring anything from self publishing (April Elder) to, marketing (Debra Brown), to publishing your work in magazines, and photojournalism (Danita Cahill), just to mention a few. The year 2015 holds some returning guest speakers, as well as some new ones. |
On our quarterly critiquing meetings, we will have a chance to share pieces of our work with one another and get the constructive feedback we are needing! And this summer, I’m particularly excited about our first Writers Fair on July 18, 2015. This is an opportunity for already published writers, editors, and maybe even a publishing company representative or two to set up a table and get their name out there. This event will be opened to the public, whether you are a writer or not, you won’t want to miss this event! Pacific Northwest Adult and Teen Challenge have been generous enough to host this event for us! Let's show their great sense of community some appreciation by hoping over to their facebook page. Don't forget to LIKE and SHARE their page on your timeline! I will post the finer details about our calendar as things get closer. Keep updated for more later! |
